TULL FAIL:I: THE ANIMAL DOESN’T BUCK AS EXPECTED
2026
sculpture/ performance / text by lou fitzsimmons and abby crain with film by William Crain
FLUTGRABEN E.V. Berlin

Vast, brutal landscapes are rendered in an intimate, three room gallery installation that works in the miniature, the dreamlike, and the interior. Within this mythopoetic landscape of bones, dust, dried up rivers, fossilized ocean floor, fire ants, an old tv, a flock of birds, a cloud in the sky, and a piece of fabric caught on a fence, a performance unfolds between two dancers who make and unmake themselves. They blend; are re-figured; ride.

Tractors
2025
A multi media series and investigation through sculpture and installation.

Exploring the point in which “man made” objects go back to nature or are being reunited with a natural state, maybe that is decomposition, adaption, rust, or overgrowth.

Quilts
2024-2025
A multi media obsession with quilts and their making and history.

The making of these peices came about through obsession with pattern,
color, texture and material, care, repetition, and then breaking down all of
my questions and criteria of a quilt.

The Sky is Blue (an Anchoring)
2024
by Abby Crain in collaboration with Lou Fitzsimmons & Kevin Lo
BEYOND GRAVITY 2024

An anchor drop enacts connection via a cord. A cord could be flexible, expandable, or retractable. This is a connection that is neither a steeling, or a making rigid, nor a stealing. One is a guest in a safe harbor. This is a connection via the sky, the clouds, the intangible and the atmospheric. Via a chord. This celebrates thunderstorms but also is afraid of them. This begins in the way the air smells after a storm. Sometimes we practice unison.
